 BackerKit Surveys have been sent!

"Tay Unleashed" by Helena Cnockaert
"Tay Unleashed" by Helena Cnockaert

Tay the Summoner just sent out our BackerKit Surveys! Please review your survey (sent separately by email) as soon as possible to make sure you have been assigned the correct Kickstarter package and so that you may specify which Add-Ons you intended to order. You can purchase additional Add-Ons or even change your Kickstarter package through the survey as well.

  • Survey Deadline / Change of Address: The deadline for filling out the survey is October 15, 2018. If you do not fill out your survey by this date, we cannot guarantee that your rewards will be delivered successfully. If your delivery information changes during the coming months, you will still be able to access your BackerKit account and update your address. We'll send you an email in the spring when we are ready to lock down your final delivery address.
  • Upgrading from "No Reward" Pledges ($1 - $24): If you would like to upgrade from "No Reward" to one of the Kickstarter packages, then please select "switch your pledge level" before you press the green "Get Started" button. If you press "Get Started" first, you will not be able to view any of the Gameplay Add-Ons. If you do this by mistake, however, you can go back and switch your pledge level in order to make the Gameplay Add-Ons reappear.
  • Official "Dungeon Alliance" T-Shirts & Collectible Mugs: We have partnered with BackerKit and Amplifier to create official Dungeon Alliance T-Shirts and Collectible Mugs for any who would like to support our campaign further. Please check them out when you are looking through the Add-Ons. Keep in mind, however, that these items ship separately from your main Kickstarter package and will incur a separate shipping charge. Also, these items ship from the US so international customers may have to pay additional taxes and fees depending on their location.
  • Adventure Pack Add-Ons: Most of you are receiving Adventure Packs as part of your Kickstarter package, so please feel free to ignore this section unless you intend to order additional Adventure Packs as Add-Ons. In the Add-On section, you will see two different prices for the Adventure Pack Add-Ons. As we detailed last month in the Kickstarter FAQ, if you pledged additional funds for Adventure Pack Add-Ons during the Kickstarter campaign, then please select the $25 "Kickstarter Add-Ons Only" version. If you did not pledge funds for these Add-Ons during the campaign but would like to order more now, then please select the $35 "Late Pledge / Late Add-On" version. This is because the manufacturing cost of the Adventure Packs increased significantly due to all of the elements unlocked during the campaign.

Story Card Samples

We are currently in the process of designing all of the Stretch Goal content that was unlocked during the Kickstarter Campaign. We've also put our art team to work full time creating beautiful images to help bring these new stories to life.

We've assembled some Story Card samples to tide you over until the next update. Enjoy!

All Stretch Goals Achieved! Thanks for a successful campaign!

The Battle of Stretch Goal Mountain

As the King grappled with the massive Champion of the Stretch Goal Trolls, the rest of his forces set about their tasks.

The Champions begin their assault!
The Champions begin their assault!

Bullwey the Brave charged right up the center of the mountain with a fierce battlecry, hoping to distract the enemy so that they would not notice his allied forces trudging up the mountainsides from east and west. With Bullwey went many brave souls, including Pavel Riha the Scholar, Jesse Rockwell, John RodriguezBigwoof, Jeff, and the wizard Joshua Lee.

"I have searched far and wide," announced Joshua Lee as they began engaging a squadron of Wyverns, "through many treacherous lands for all of the ingredients for a spell of great magnitude to ensure our success! If we can only get close enough to the top...!"

Eldessar the Glorious quaffed his reserve flagon of elven wine and then led his forces up the west side of the mountain. Together with Minerva, SanderRussoncNicolas the Early RiserVincent Bernardi, and Genus Solo, he led the western army through wave after wave of tireless Lizard Men bent on their destruction.

Michael the Scholar went with them too and kept careful track of the kill rate as they ascended. "If we can just kill 750 Lizard Men every hour, we'll reach the top in time!" he reported. And they seemed to be matching that schedule.

"Still on track!" proclaimed Russonc.

"At this speed we will run over the mountaintop with ease!" laughed Sander.

Meanwhile, on the east side, Gregory the Sage led his Dungeon Alliance Coalition against a herd of violent Centaurs and their Goblin minions, who riddled the heroes with arrows. With him went Jarcore, Justin Boehm, Eric LasiferTony Graham, and Format92, who raised their shields to protect the others as best they could.

They'd have been perforated to death had they not been accompanied by Andrew W, a disciple of the fire wizard Mysterios. Andrew W and his brother, also a wizard, combined their magic to create a Burning Desolation spell that burst into the midst of the Centaurs and Goblins, allowing the others to close the gap and engage.

The Centaurs and Goblins meet fiery destruction!
The Centaurs and Goblins meet fiery destruction!

The brotherly wizards were accompanied by Clint (Andrew's nephew), whom an imp had transformed into a Glowing Blue Ball just days earlier. "How do I fix myself, Uncle Andrew? And what happens when we get to the top? And will there be treasure for all of us?" Clint's relentless questions kept the Centaurs distracted as he bobbed about the mountain interrogating everyone who could hear him.

Meanwhile, on the west side, things were not going well. An enormous Naga, an intelligent serpent creature, rose up from the ground and started rallying the Lizard Men. He constricted Nicolas and Genus, who passed out from exhaustion. Morale was low. Jens Larsen, an old battle veteran, cursed his luck. "If only I hadn't listed to Colin the Great, whose inspiring words made me go on one more campaign! Will he never stop prodding us to greater acts of valor?" he bemoaned.

"Do not give in to despair," chastised Minerva. "Our glorious king is leading the best army ever seen!"

"She is right," cried Eldessar from the forefront of battle. "Neither food nor spirits will get us over the top, only pure determination and skill. Fight on, my fellow comrades!"

Eldessar inspires his comrades

Meanwhile the King finally hacked the Troll Champion to bits, and together with his trusty bard, PK, he joined Bullwey's group racing up the center. But although Bullwey's strike force had fared well against many soaring Wyverns, a strife broke out among them.

Pavel Riha the Scholar had released the magic of his Book of Faces to smite one Wyvern after another, but wished that the others would follow suit. As the King approached them, Pavel said, "We have a problem, my king! Not everyone has ascended the mountain to destroy our enemies with magic as they should. We have traitors here!"

"I am one whom you call traitor," retorted Bullwey the Brave as he plunged his sword into a Wyvern. "But while you prefer to write dead documents and read yellowed scrolls, I prefer to battle the enemy and pile the heads of the dead. Only time for battle, from face to face, from man to man!"

The Wrath of Bullwey
The Wrath of Bullwey

"Bullwey, that's the kind of action talk I like to hear!" proclaimed the King.

"Born to serve. Born to kill, sire," Bullwey responded with a nod.

Seeing the need to inspire and unify the troops, PK the Bard broke out into extempore bardsong:

     Axe-time, sword-time,

     shields are splintered.

     Wind-time, wolf-time,

     Ere the SG falls.

His encouraging song bolstered their resolve, and soon their quarrels were forgotten.

PK's song unifies the troops!
PK's song unifies the troops!

Meanwhile, on the western side, Ian Rankine the Poet Warrior came surging to the fore, helping to muster the troops: "No retreat! No surrender!"

His magnificent charge brought courage to the rest of the troops, and soon they had finished off the Naga and the Lizard Men and closed the distance to the base of the mountain's final peak. There they met the other two allied forces, who also arrived with the King. In the distance above, they could see Frost Giants mustering themselves for battle.

"Sander, sally forth with yon countdown!" suggested PK, but there was no response from the trusty scout. "Has anybody seen Sander?"

Without a moment's hesitation, Eldessar took over the countdown, making sure the number of remaining enemies was constantly known to his companions.

"I'm missing Sander too," said Minerva. "But Eldessar is doing a great job as well, I think."

"I am more concerned about the next enemy after these! Who knows what we will face?" said Eldessar.

Llyranor the Assassin shared his fears. "We must know what kind of pain we will suffer at the top! I will scout ahead to discover what lies ahead." And Simon Saint-Charles shared his concern, so he agreed to accompany Llyranor on his scout mission.

After this brief reprieve, the Frost Giants lumbered to the attack, and the King's combined forces clashed with them for several hours. At first, the heroes made progress, but it was soon apparent that their numbers could not sustain continued casualties from the giants' mighty axe swipes. For every giant they felled, it seemed they would lose ten heroes. Matt Woods the Druid and Adam the Relentless were determined to give their all for the cause, and they did much tanking to safeguard the others, but it was simply not enough.

All looked desperate until a sudden trumpet call signaled the return of John Cross the War Priest, who had gone out to round up more conscripts from the nearby towns. "Onward, mighty heroes!" he cried. "Our campaign is nigh complete. Muster the villagers to make a final push. Turn the commoners into a legion that will never be forgotten! For the king! For us all!"

John Cross's reinforcements arrive in the nick of time
John Cross's reinforcements arrive in the nick of time

The arrival of John Cross's motley band was just enough to turn the tide. Indeed, his villagers could do little to harm the Frost Giants, but the hapless peasants managed to soak up enough hits to allow the heroes to survive and vanquish the enemy.

Knowing they were close to the top, the Champions knew that more Stretch Goal Trolls were likely to be waiting in ambush for them. And so Joshua Lee the Wizard, with a few murmured words and simple gestures of a hand, with spell book gripped tightly in the other, summoned a mighty Earthquake to befall the mountain and expose the Trolls.

But his spell went too far and exposed far more Stretch Goal Trolls than they had anticipated. Before the heroes could reach the summit, the Trolls rose up and pushed back hard. They were regenerating so fast it seemed impossible to finish them.

"Damn Trolls!" shouted Geoff Cost the Ranger, who unleashed a barrage of flaming arrows to slow down their advance.

It was at this moment that Tim the Enchanter from Australia arrived. He had heard the sounds of battle from halfway across the Kingdom, and so he came bursting onto the scene with an explosion of magic flame. The Trolls could not withstand the heat, and so they retreated into their holes.

And with this victory there was much jubilation among the troops, for they had achieved the plateau they had been striving to conquer for countless hours. As the smoke cleared, they tried to ascertain what challenges remained, for they were sure there would still be a mighty climb to the summit above.

And indeed, the mountain seemed to continue up into the clouds out of sight, with sheer sides that simply could not be scaled. The heroes took a few steps back in momentary anguish at the prospect of their impending defeat.

But it was all an illusion! At that moment, Llyranor and Simon Saint-Charles returned from their scout mission, and proclaimed that a Sphinx had cast an illusion to make the peak appear much higher than it was. In fact, they were very close to the top already! The scouts had found Sander at last, who had been imprisoned by the Sphinx, and together the three of them had driven the beast away. Even now the illusion faded away and the peak of Stretch Goal Mountain now lay bare before them!

"That's awesome," pronounced Sir Jason Mitic, and Ross Hebden the Agile expressed his approval as well.

"I had better plant my banner at the summit before I get smacked in the head by a Troll club," said the King grimly.

"My sword will keep them away," assured Minerva with a flourish of her blade. "The top of the mountain is ours!" And it is good she accompanied the King, for leaping out from behind a rock was the Troll King, who had rallied all the retreating Trolls and prepared to finish the King once for all.

Minerva kept the Trolls at bay single-handedly while the rest of the army rushed to join them.

Minerva saves the King!
Minerva saves the King!

Fortunately, Joshua Lee had prepared one more spell for just such an occasion. Before the Trolls could break Minerva's defenses, he cast a Volcano spell behind the Troll King, which sealed the other Trolls up in the mountain forever.

Only the Troll King remained, and he soon found himself caught between the two generals, Eldessar the Glorious and Gregory the Sage. He battered them fiercely, but the two Champions gave as good as they got, and with a final swipe, Eldessar beheaded the Troll King and held aloft his severed head.

"The Troll hath fallen!" proclaimed Gregory. "All hail the King!"

And with that pronouncement, the King planted his banner atop Stretch Goal Mountain, and then fell to his knees in exhaustion.

"The King will sleep for many days after this campaign!" affirmed Format92.

Then there was much triumphant exultation, but sadness too, for with the battle over, soon their forces would disperse, and it seemed they would never gather such a magnificent assembly again. But many swore this would not be the last of their fellowship, and that they would surely forge new alliances together in the years to come.

Ian Rankin the Warrior Poet then thought it appropriate to solemnly quote his favorite bard, the renowned Tolkien: "Go in peace! I will not say: do not weep, for not all tears are an evil."

And so satisfied they descended the mountain and returned to the King's Hall to enjoy the spoils of Victory!

Thank You, Mighty Adventurers!

Thank you, one and all, for your passion and inspiration throughout this long campaign. We have now taken our second major step toward opening the world of Dungeon Alliance, and with hope, determination, and providence, we hope to see the game continue to grow in the future.

We will be sending you Updates throughout the coming weeks to let you know how we have progressed with our production milestones. We have already submitted the press counts to the printer, and we are about to put in our official order for the miniatures, which is the first step of production.

Throughout the months of September and October, while miniature production progresses, we will be designing and testing all of the additional material that was unlocked during the campaign. We then plan to send the cards to press in November. This development phase is something we're really looking forward to, and we can't wait to share our progress with you during the days ahead.

Your Quest Going Forward!

  • Payment Errors: Although most of your payments to Kickstarter have cleared, there are still several dozen errored payments. If your payment did not clear, you will receive a notification from Kickstarter, so please check your email (including your Spam folder) to see if any further action is required on your part. It is important to resolve your payment issues immediately to ensure that we will still be able to send you your rewards.
  • BackerKit Surveys: We will be sending our BackerKit surveys out to you later this month. This will provide you with the opportunity to supply your mailing information to us, as well as order additional Add-Ons if you'd like. We'll send out another Update as soon as the surveys have been emailed.
  • Dungeon Alliance Coalition: Many of you have wondered if it's possible to continue the camaraderie of the campaign during the months ahead. One way to do so is to join the Dungeon Alliance Coalition on Facebook. Started by Gregory the Sage, this is a great place to meet and discuss all things Dungeon Alliance. Since many of our developers frequent the group, it's a great place to make suggestions for the game (many of our Stretch Goals for this campaign were suggested by someone there first!). We also tend to share advance news there from time to time, so you'll be on the cutting edge of new developments.
  • Boardgamegeek.com: Another great place to discuss Dungeon Alliance is at the Dungeon Alliance Entry on boardgamegeek.com. There is an amazing community there, and it's also a great way to share your enjoyment of Dungeon Alliance. If you've already played the game, we encourage you to rate the game there at your earliest opportunity. The more ratings we receive, the higher the game will climb in the rankings, and therefore the more exposure the game will meet with new adventurers.
  • Dungeon Alliance Companion App: Because of your hard work in cyberspace, we have unlocked the first two Digital Tiers of the Dungeon Alliance Companion App! Our developers will begin work on the app right away, which begins with a Campaign Tracker and Adventure Pack Tracker to help you keep track of your campaigns from game to game. We look forward to adding more features too if the app becomes popular, including the anticipated Hero Drafting App and many other features. Please us know what you'd like to see in the future. We pay close attention to every suggestion you post!

Stretch Goal Mountain

The Old World is beset with so many new enemies that the King himself has chosen to ride into battle to join the fray. Most of the King's adventurers have ridden south with Sir Holgar the Paladin at their command, but the King himself rode north with a retinue of his closest followers called the Champions. Those brave lads and lasses were ready to fight with him to the bitter end!

The King leads his Champions into battle!
The King leads his Champions into battle!

As the mist began to clear over their latest victory, the King and his Champions beheld a mystic mountain come into view, one that seemed to appear out of nowhere. On top of it were entirely new enemies the like of which they had never seen before, monstrous and formidable. There appeared to be Frost Giants, and was that a.....? No, it couldn't be!

Sir Jarcore approached with caution, looking up at the daunting challenge that lay before them. "A bit high, this last one, milord. Are you sure we should attempt it?"

Genus Solo scoffed from under his dark helmet. "Give me the chance! I can take them alone!"

"Nay," said the King grimly. "We shall go together, for what hope is there without all of us assembled?"

"That's Stretch Goal Mountain!" exclaimed Format92, the collector of relics. "It hasn't been seen in ages."

The King then called for his lookout, Sander the Rogue, who possessed the sharpest eyes in the land, to determine how many enemies they would face in the harrowing battle to come.

Sander squinted for a moment, his hand shielding his eyes from the sun. "There are precisely 20,402, milord."

"Are you sure?" asked the King.

Sander scowled indignantly at the King for doubting his assessment.

"That's a lot," said Sir Justin Boehm. "Perhaps there's a slightly... smaller mountain we can attack."

"No, we can do this!" shouted Minerva the Warrior, the wisest of the Champions. When she spoke, somehow they all knew it could be done. She was that inspiring.

"How shall we prevail then?" asked the King. "We need a strategy."

The might war priest John Cross stood forward boldly. "We'll need 2,000 fighters, with half coming from each side of the mountain. Let's see if I can summon them!"

Bullwey the Brave offered a dangerous course. "Let me take a small band of our fiercest on a frontal assault. We'll distract them while you make your way with the two main forces. Who's with me?"

And there were many who volunteered, including Adam the RelentlessJoshua Lee the wizard, the twins C and E (who come from a big family), Nicolas the Early Riser with his dark greatsword, Pavel Riha the scholar with many ideas, and many other brave souls.

"Well spoken!" said the King. "Let us begin the assault at once!"

"Did you say you needed 'a salt'?" piped up PK the Bard with a smile, "for I have only brought a sprig of pepper." His puns were relentless but cheered up the assembly.

Eldessar the Glorious downed his elven ale and stood at the vanguard of the king's forces. "I shall lead half the soldiers up the west side of the mountain! They will harken to my orders!"

Gregory the Sage offered to lead his famous Dungeon Alliance Coalition up the east side. They were committed, loyal, and always on alert.

"There is one thing that you have not considered," admonished the wary Sir Russonc, his glorious blonde hair glinting in the sunlight. "There are Stretch Goal Trolls who will seek to stop us at every opportunity!"

And indeed he spoke truth. For out of the mist before them approached a Troll Champion of enormous proportions.

The Champion of the Stretch Goal Trolls!
The Champion of the Stretch Goal Trolls!

"Lead your forces into battle," commanded the King through gritted teeth. "Leave the Troll to me!"

New Solo / Co-Op Cards + New Trait Cards Unlocked!

Since our last update, we have unlocked two more Stretch Goals! We have added new Solo / Co-Op Cards that will allow those entering the Deep Dungeon to have enough Solo / Co-Op cards for a full 6-round game, or to allow those playing a standard 4-round game to experience more variety.

We've also added a new Trait Card Type to the Level III Upgrade Deck! Traits are similar to Artifacts in that they stay on the table face up once drafted, but they are assigned to a specific Hero and provide that Hero with new abilities during certain circumstances. These are cheaper to draft than Artifacts, which will also make them easier to purchase with Campaign Points so that they can be retained for the next adventure.

Social Media Digital Stretch Goal Update

In addition to unlocking two traditional Stretch Goals, we have also unlocked the first of our Social Media Digital Stretch Goals. This allows us to develop Tier One of our Dungeon Alliance Companion App. The Campaign Tracker will now allow you to log information about your alliance between the adventures of a campaign. So you'll have a record of the Heroes in your team, your permanently drafted Upgrades, your total Campaign Tokens (spent and unspent), and the Quests that you have accomplished.

The next Digital Tier features the Adventure Pack Tracker, and there are up to two more Tiers after that! To unlock the remaining Digital Tiers, please help support us on Social Media as shown below. It doesn't matter what order any of these are achieved, as long as they are achieved before the end of the campaign. As soon as one is unlocked, it will bump us up to the next tier. If all four are unlocked, we'll unlock the full Companion App.

Issue Summary

  • We have unlocked Stretch Goal #5: 8 New Solo / Co-Op Cards.
  • We have unlocked Stretch Goal #6: 6 New Trait Upgrade Cards added to the Level III Upgrade Deck.
  • Our next Stretch Goal will be challenging as we approach the summit of Stretch Goal Mountain! If achieved, this Stretch Goal will unlock 2 new Level II Dungeon Tiles with 2 new Enemy Types
  • We've unlocked Tier One of our Dungeon Alliance Companion App. To help open additional tears, please like, share, follow, and retweet to help spread the word about Dungeon Alliance during the final week of the campaign.

New Quest Cards, Dungeon Tiles, and Enemy Tokens have been unlocked!

This weekend, the King was ill-tempered and petulant as he held court in his Great Hall. One messenger after another had arrived to report good news about the success of his heroes against their enemies, but still the King was discontent.

"That's enough!" he shouted finally. "I am desperately weary with endless reports of the destruction of goblins, spiders, and zombies. Have we still not seen the end of these creatures, or of the other enemies we've defeated so soundly, from bugbears and ogres to death fairies and minotaurs? Really, the wicked forces in this kingdom have grown quite dull!"

"But my lord," stammered his advisors. "Your champions also complete countless quests as they purge the land of evil."

"Oh, yes!" mocked the King. "But how many more notes can those accursed dwarven brothers, Leopold and Alexander, pass between each other before we realize they're just having fun with us? And really, if I hear one more time about the wisdom of Mentor and her teachings, I daresay I shall expire."

Petra the Dwarf Scholar has made a terrifying discovery!
Petra the Dwarf Scholar has made a terrifying discovery!

It was at this moment that Petra the Dwarf Scholar burst into the Great Hall, a stack of heavy books held under her arm as always, and a look of deep concern furrowing her brow.

"My lord," she announced. "I bring dire news."

"Let me guess," interrupted the king dismissively. "Lady Eleanor has lost another artifact."

"No," replied Petra. "This is something new!"

Everyone in the court gasped. The King leaned forward cautiously in his throne, his interest peaked. "Really? Go on..."

"First," she said, "The kingdom has been swarmed by Lizard Men from the swamplands. And from the outer plains have come vicious Centaurs hunting adventurers with their mighty bows just for sport. Worst of all, the skies have been darkened by the approach of deadly Wyverns swooping to the ground to lash out with their barbed, venomous tails.

"On top of all of this," she continued breathlessly, "the Queen of the Death Fairies has declared war on all of us!"

"What's this?" exclaimed the King as he stood with newfound passion. "The Kingdom is on the verge of destruction by a new assembly of foes, each requiring innovative strategies and defying traditional tactics?"

The King paused, then smiled broadly. "To arms, heroes! Vanquish these new foes at once!"

After choking back a tear, the King sat back down and murmured, "This is the best day of my life..."

Next Stretch Goal: 8 New Solo / Co-op Cards!

After unlocking new Quest Cards, Dungeon Tiles, and Enemy Tokens, we are now gearing up for our next Stretch Goal: 8 new Solo / Co-op Cards!

The Dungeon just became more unpredictable!
The Dungeon just became more unpredictable!

Now if you are playing with the Deep Dungeon Final Enemy Room, you will have enough cards to last for a full 6 round game. If playing a standard 4 round game, you will be able to play a random assortment of Solo / Co-op cards to make your dungeon experiences more variable.

Introducing new Social Media Digital Stretch Goals!

After carefully reviewing the thoughtful feedback from our backer community, we have concluded that Digital Stretch Goals will not be linked to the traditional Stretch Goals that are a part of this campaign.

However, in order to help fund an official Dungeon Alliance Companion App for our backers, we have decided to provide Social Media Stretch Goals that will allow interested backers to unlock features of the Companion App by supporting us on social media. Most importantly, the Social Media Digital Stretch Goals will help us spread the word about our Kickstarter campaign during its final days!

Based on your feedback, the Dungeon Alliance Companion App will not replace traditional gameplay, but will instead serve to assist players with keeping track of their alliances and their longterm campaigns. The Digital Stretch Goals will be achieved by unlocking specific Digital Tiers. As each Digital Tier is unlocked, the Companion App will reach new levels of sophistication.

  • Companion App - Tier 1: If we unlock the first tier, the Companion App will provide a basic Campaign Tracker that will allow you to log information about your alliance between the adventures of a campaign. So you'll have a record of the Heroes in your team, your permanently drafted Upgrades, your total Campaign Tokens (spent and unspent), and the Quests that you have accomplished.
  • Companion App - Tier 2: The second tier expands the Companion App to include an Adventure Pack Tracker. For your current campaign, each Story Card that you've encountered, how you've interacted with individual Campaign Cards, and Upgrade Cards you've been awarded will all be tracked for you from game to game.
  • Companion App - Tier 3: ?????????????

We are adding the criteria for passing these goals on the main KS page, but they are also summarized here for your convenience. It doesn't matter what order any of these are achieved, as long as they are achieved before the end of the campaign. As soon as one is unlocked, it will bump us up to the next tier. If all four are unlocked, we'll unlock the full Companion App!

Please spread the word so that we can have a climactic finish to this exciting campaign!

Late Pledges & Pledge Upgrades

We will be using BackerKit as our Pledge Manager again for this campaign. Those who have pledged during the campaign will be able to purchase more Add-Ons when we send out our surveys in September.

After much discussion, we have decided to allow Late Pledges, as well as Pledge Upgrades for those who have pledged less than $25. Those who pledged less than $25 will have to upgrade to one of the existing pledge levels before they will be permitted to include any Add-Ons.

There is a caveat to this decision, however. Due to the successful evolution of the Adventure Packs, the Adventure Pack Add-On will be more expensive if it is chosen after the KS campaign. This will likely increase the price of each entire set of Adventure Packs by $5 - $15 if they are chosen after the end of the campaign.

Most of you will not be affected by this, but here is a summary of how it will work:

  • This does not affect base Kickstarter packages in any way. Any KS package that includes Adventure Packs for which you pledged during the campaign is unaffected.
  • This only affects Add-Ons ordered after the campaign. If you choose Adventure Pack Add-Ons during the campaign, you will still be able to receive them at the current rate ($25 for each complete set of Adventure Packs).
  • If you pledge at least $1, you can still receive 1 set of Adventure Packs for $25. If you pledge $1 - $24, you will need to switch to one of the existing packages after the campaign. If you switch to the $25 Adventurers Package, you will still receive 1 set of Adventure Packs at the KS rate, but each additional Adventure Pack Add-On will be more expensive.
  • If you do not pledge at all during the campaign, then every set of Adventure Packs will be at the more expensive rate unless you also order the base game. Late pledgers who pledge for the base game will still receive one set of the Adventure Packs automatically at the normal rate.

We are happy to answer your questions about this update, so please let us know in the Comments section right here on the Update page since this will help us consolidate our answers in a way that is easy for backers to find. Thanks for your patience while we analyzed the economy of scale related to this variable component of the campaign.

Issue Summary

  • We have unlocked Stretch Goal #3: New Quest Cards added to every Adventure Pack.
  • We have unlocked Stretch Goal #4: 3 New Dungeon Tiles and 3 New Enemy Types.
  • Our next Stretch Goal will be 8 New Solo / Co-op Cards.
  • We have introduced new Social Media Digital Stretch Goals to allow us to unlock the tiers of our upcoming Dungeon Alliance Companion App. Please like, share, follow, and retweet to help spread the word about Dungeon Alliance during the final week of the campaign.
  • We are allowing Late Pledges and Pledge Upgrades for those who pledged $1 - $24 during the Kickstarter Campaign, but the Adventure Pack Add-Ons will be more expensive if ordered without the base game after the campaign.

Next Stretch Goal: New Quest Cards added to every Adventure Pack!

We are already quite close to our next Stretch Goal (less than $2K away)! Based upon your feedback, if we reach our next goal, we are going to add 1 new Quest to every unlocked Adventure Pack, including 1 new Final Enemy complete with a set of Final Enemy Cards. If you thought those pesky Death Fairies were rough, wait till you meet their monarch!

Future Stretch Goals (Tabletop & Digital)

As our campaign surges forward, we'd love to discuss new Stretch Goals with you!

One of the most popular suggestions we've received has been adding new Dungeon Tiles complete with new Enemy Tokens. This has been a very popular request, so you can be sure that we will add it to the list of upcoming Stretch Goals very soon!

As our number of backers grow, we also look to the possibility of adding Digital Stretch Goals as well. This will allow us to afford more Stretch Goals at a more even pace during the days ahead. We still have more analog Stretch Goals in mind too, of course, but we want to offer Stretch Goals at a more frequent pace because that's a lot more fun!

With that in mind, we've compiled a list of Digital Stretch Goals that we'd like to create in order to enhance your enjoyment of Dungeon Alliance. Although each of these items will require a significant amount of development time, the advantage for us is that these do not require physical manufacturing so we can more easily afford to create them for our growing community of backers. Also, as soon as one of these is completed, we can release it to you right away, even before the rest of the analog components have been manufactured.

Please take a look at this list and let us know what you think. Please discuss your ideas in the Comments section of this Update so that we can review everyone's thoughts in one place. Which of these would you be most excited to see as future Digital Stretch Goals? We value your opinions and ideas, so please let your voices be heard!

  • Hero Drafting App: This progressive web app would allow you to use your smartphone or tablet to do the opening Hero Draft instead of laying out all the cards. As we reach additional Digital Stretch Goals, we'll add more features, including cross referencing heroes with one another so you have a sense of your team's overall synergy as you draft. All backers will receive exclusive beta access to this free app.
  • Digital Adventure Packs: Digital Adventure Packs would allow you to add blank physical Story Cards to your tabletop game (released as part of this Kickstarter) to trigger digital Story Cards and Campaign Cards on your mobile device. This content would only be available in a digital format for at least 1 year. Although this digital content would normally be released to paid subscribers, all backers would receive the first set of Digital Adventure Packs for free.
  • Illustrated Story Content: These short stories are one of many ways we'd love to explore the Old World where our adventures take place, and even tie new characters and storylines into future expansions for the game. The stories would feature new art from the same artists that you have come to love for their work on Dungeon Alliance. We would allow backers to have a special hand in shaping the future of the storylines by voting on which characters they'd most like to see us focus on, and even vote to decide which elements of the storyline should be added to the game itself. All backers would receive early access to this content.
  • Dungeon Alliance Web Comic: This takes the illustrated stories to the next level. These graphic adventures would allow you to visualize the Old World in a whole new way. Similar to the Illustrated Story Content, backers would help us shape the future of the storyline and determine which elements should added to the game world. All backers would receive early access to this content.
  • Dungeon Alliance Adventure Books: This is perhaps the most ambitious project we're considering, but it's one that we've wanted to explore for a long time. Many of us grew up reading the old Choose Your Own Adventure books. We would like to create similar, more advanced versions of interactive narratives in digital format that are set in the Old World. Players would see their choices not only determine the storyline they pursue during the current adventure, but would also see their decisions impact their adventures during future digital books in the series.  All backers would receive the first Adventure Book for free.
